Looking for comments in all the wrong places.....

Are you an Urban Cowboy fan? Or are you even old enough to remember that movie? John Travolta was SMOKIN' and I totally had the hots for him. Ahhh... *swoon*

Those 80's movies were the best, eh? (Well, not as great as a certain 1930's movie, but we don't need to discuss that now) I have so many 80's movies that I hold dear to my heart:

48 HRS.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
An Officer and a Gentleman
Dirty Dancing
Beverly Hills Cop

I could go on and on and on.

But what I *really* want is for you to comment and tell me what your favorite 80's movie is. Why am I asking? For purely selfish reasons. The most comments I have ever received for any blog post was 15. I know I have many lurkers out there that read, then laugh/cry/puke or gag...then promptly google something more interesting to read without ever leaving a comment **cough-cough-Linda-cough-cough**. How do I know this? From emails with little tidbits being quoted directly from my blog. Did you know you don't even have to have a blogger account? You can just leave an anon comment and type your name in the body of the message. Yes. It's that simple.

I'm sad and pathetic with my woe-is-me-please-comment-if-you-love-me post. Sad. And pathetic. And it's gonna get even sadder and even more pathetic.

I'm about to bribe you for a comment.

I know I can top 15 comments. I think. Maybe. Probably if y'all can just show me the love. And if you do leave a comment, your name will be entered in to a drawing for a $20 Starbucks Gift Card. If you don't drink Starbucks, I would be willing to bet you know someone who does and what a lovely Christmas Gift that would make! I'm all about re-gifting, people.

So tell me.....what's your favorite 80's movie? Leave a comment by midnight Pacific Daylight Time on Thursday and I'll throw your name in the drawing.

Good Luck!

  1. Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam...

    So tweasure your wuv.

  2. OK, first of all, I think that those of us that HAVE commented before should get extra chances in the drawing. I mean, come on. Secondly, I can tell you how to get more than 15 comments from personal experience. In some way, shape, or form, reference "Peggy is a Whore" in your blog post or have someone put it in one of the comments. People will crawl out of the woodwork to chime in on that one.
Now, for some of my favorite 80's movies: Big, Baby Boom, A Fish Called Wanda, Dead Poets Society, Ordinary People, and who could forget Footloose?

  3. For those of you that are stuck, Look here:

My Favs include (but aren't limited to) Valley Girl (#1 fav I even got a bi level cut after that one! It was NOT a mullet!!) 16 Candles, Weird Science, The Princess Bride, Back to the Future, Field of Dreams, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I have many others, but if any of the movies I listed come on TV, I can not channge the channel. I.Must.Watch.Again. Even if I have seen it a million times before! lol

  4. So many good movies from the 80's - Footloose, Flashdance, Breakfast Club, St Elmo's Fire and the list goes on.

  5. Is Ghost and An Officer and a Gentleman from the 80's?

    15 comments eh?

  6. I don't have a favorite 80's movie, But HI! Hope you get more than 15 replies! :)

  7. This movie is horrible according to my husband, but I think I watched it every day for 6 months straight after school. Very few people have heard of it, but it did feature Flounder from "Animal House" and the guy from the "I'm a Pepper, You're a Pepper..." commercial. It's called "Midnight Madness," and it's a wacky scavenger hunt among college students. A bit of trivia, it was also Michael J. Fox's first movie. He plays a little kid!

When Midnight Madness starts to get to you, doesn't matter what you say, doesn't matter what you doooooooo. You're gonna play!!!!!!!!

  8. Staying Alive...sequel to Saturday Night Fever!

  9. How could you forget St. Elmo's Fire, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, and Sixteen Candles? And by the way, if you are going to commit to blog everyday, no lame blogs like the election day blog. I'm you're best friend... I KNOW you never have a shortage of things to say!

  10. Oooh such a comment whore! :D

Teen Witch is the first movie that popped in my head lol I sorta love that movie!!

  11. Anything by the 80's Brat Pack. Oh, and as a youngster I knew every line from Poltergeist. skeery. I'm pretty sure that was in the 80's.

  12. oh my you are so talking my language when you say Urban Cowboy and John Travolta! I love that movie...i found it in the $5 bin of DVDS once at Walmart and snatched that sucker up! 80s movies are so the best...I'm a big brat packer so I love 16 candles, pretty in pink, the breakfast club, St. Elmo's Fire, and Staying Alive. oh that one Amy mentioned about the scavenger hunt...I haven't seen that in years...i'm adding that to my netflix!

  13. Happy Birthday Din-Din!- The tot
